Dr. McBride is an affiliated professor at the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute and the Georgetown University Medical Center. Since 2001 he has been the President of the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, a not-for-profit, non-partisan, academically oriented think tank, specializing in science and technology policy. He is Co-Editor of the peer reviewed journal, Technology, and is the former Editor in Chief of Review of Policy Research. Professor McBride served for 20 years as a Naval officer and scientist, leading national level research and development programs which intersect vital aspects of public policy at all levels of government. At the Potomac Institute, Dr. McBride leads technical programs, including significant support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the National Academies of Science/National Research Council (NAS/NRC), as well as to pharmaceutical and ergonomics industries.
